Tools for application developers

Nostr is a protocol for publishing and exchanging signed events through relays. My work on Osty focused on tools developers could reuse when building applications on it: a framework, project scaffolding through create-osty, and React libraries including nostr-hooks.

My contribution

I owned architecture, implementation, releases, and maintenance for Osty. Two individual one-year OpenSats grants supported my independent work on Pinstr and Osty.

The projects serve different purposes: create-osty scaffolds applications, while nostr-hooks provides reusable React hooks. Pinstr is a separate social application I designed and built for curating and sharing interests.

Published and used

nostr-hooks surpassed 1,000 weekly npm downloads during its history. Pinstr earned more than 70 GitHub stars and was presented at NostrAsia in Tokyo.

The code and packages are public, so developers can inspect the implementation and explore the tools directly.
